Years after the death of his grandmother, Thomas Watson, a 24 year-old Australian man with Asperger's syndrome, decides to break the silence that has burdened his family for three generations. Against his family's will he decides to find out what kept his grandmother, Yvonne Holman, silent about her time in a Japanese-run female death camp in Indonesia during WWII. Determined to discover out the truth, Thomas embarks on a journey that takes him to a dark and distant past that his grandmother had spent a lifetime trying to protect her family from.
